Burgerteca – San Antonio, TX

Decided to come to check this place out after seeing this on a social media foodie page. I’m all about trying fusion foods and was eager to try this joint out it is Mexican inspired burgers. This place is pretty fun. There are a lot of bright colors and those Dia De Los Muertos dudes. The food here speaks for itself. They serve burgers, hot dogs, fries and delicious desserts.  This restaurant has now become one of my favorites here in San Antonio.                            .

I had the chilaquiles burger and it was freaking delicious. It’s one of the best burgers i’ve ever had. The chips, salsa verde, egg and crema all blend in perfect with the beef patty. You get amazing flavors with every bite. This is a great combination I promise it will be one of the best you’ve ever had. I also had an order of the queso fundido fries (melted cheese, chorizo, and of course fries) just order them you won’t regret it!! The only thing with the fries is you do have to eat them pretty quick because just like all queso fundido the cheese will start hardening up. The fries themselves are a perfect balance of soft on the inside and that crunch when you bite into one.

The Enchilada Burger was pretty good the burger met all the expectations of blending two foods. The patty was seasoned just right and moist. Then the enchiladas gave it the perfect extra. They were so tasty with just the right crip on the edges (just like in Mexico). And for the final touch crema and queso fresco. You can never go wrong with some crema and queso fresco!

My buddy Nubs was pretty basic and ordered the Big Tex Classic he got a little crazy and added avocado and bacon lol.

The drinks here were amazing! This place is definitly worth going for just a few drinks. They had a special for a tamarindo margarita which was delicious, every flavor in this place fits perfectly with each other. I also ordered the kiwi cooler it was kind of like a mojito but with kiwi juice, tito’s vodka fresh basil, and lime. The pepino fresco and the cantarito were also delicious.

They also sell Mexican street dogs and have a dessert section with nieves, paletas, raspas, mangonadas and other fresh dessert items.

Chef Johnny Hernandez hit the nail on the head with this one. Service was great. Food was excellent. Atmosphere is IG worthy.
