The Biscuit Bar – Plano, Texas

I do not know if it is just me but I have seen a few biscuit related restaurants open up lately. I was driving around Dallas and was in the Plano area for lunch so I looked up for somewhere to grab a bite. I found a few places I wanted to check out, but since I love biscuits, the Biscuit Bar was a clear winner.

It was Saturday around noon and the joint was packed. I attributed this to the fact that it had been raining nonstop for the last two weeks. Boy was I wrong!

This place is located on the Boardwalk at Granite Park. A cool little spot with a boardwalk and a few restaurants that all look like good options.

The restaurant is not very wide it has more of a long layout. You order first (they give you a number) then you go find an empty table. They have a patio in the front and some seating on the inside. A staff member then brings out your food to your table.

We ordered the Hot Hot Chicken, Buffalo Blue Chicken Biscuit, and an order of Fully Loaded Style Tater Tots. The hot chicken is a southern fried Nashville-style hot chicken, dill pickles, and house made ranch. The sandwich was good and flavorful but I don’t know about calling it hot hot it was lacking a lot of spiciness for my taste (I love spicy food). The chicken breast was tender and juicy while the biscuit was soft, flaky, with a crunchy outer crust.

The buffalo chicken is a southern fried chicken, buffalo sauce, blue cheese, and cole slaw. This one was really good! Not until recently did I start liking blue cheese but in the past year, I have really come to enjoy it.  I really liked the tanginess of the buffalo sauce mixed with the blue cheese.

The loaded tots come with double bacon (I think it lacked the second serving), cheddar cheese, sour cream, and green onions. It’s a small side not really meant to be shared which we did because I had eaten a big breakfast a few hours earlier.

Be careful when you order even tho it is biscuits they are very filling and it could be easy to over order.

This place has a minimalist but cool ambiance. They have different neon signs with various sayings related to biscuits around the restaurant.

I love the fact that restaurants with concepts like this one have been opening up! Keep eating my peeps.
