The South Chicken & Waffles – San Antonio, TX

Sundays are usually lazy days but there is always room for Chicken and Waffles! So where to? Well after a quick review of our “Must Try” list we settled for…..The South Chicken and Waffles! Who can say no to red velvet waffles???

Due to the time we arrived we did have a bit of a wait being that the place is pretty small. It wasn’t bad and take it from me that I really don’t like waiting. Even while waiting, the staff was super attentive. We got our table and well first thing’s first…..Drink Menu! We got that settled and on to the exciting part, food! Although our mind was pretty much already set on the chicken and waffles, we quickly started doubting as EVERYTHING else sounded soooo good. But we stuck with the chicken and waffles with some gumbo as an appetizer. With the waffles you can get half and half so that’s what we got. Half regular and half red velvet.

The verdict??? It was super good! The chicken was crispy, juicy and had a great taste to it. I did not want to leave a single piece of the chicken skin on that plate. That good! The waffles were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Now just add some warm syrup, Perfect! You definitely must check this place out if you are in San Antonio.
