Tumble 22 – Austin, TX

This food truck is one of my favorite stops when I’m in Austin. They have relocated next to Star Bar in West 6th street which is a win if you want and alcoholic beverage to go with your spicy chicken sandwich. While looking up the address I learned that in addition to the food truck they also have a brick and mortar (Address below). I will have to check them out next time I’m in town.

I’ve have yet to visit Nashville so don’t kill me if it doesn’t compare. However, I know good food when I eat some and this is one of the best spicy chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. I always order the O.G. Classic Chicken Sandwich ($8.50). We usually share a side of fries or chips whatever they have available. The sandwich comes with all natural chicken breast topped with coleslaw, bread & butter pickles and duke’s mayo. They have different levels of spice from wimpy to fire in the hole.

The most popular according the the dude who took our order is Mo’ Hot which is what i decided to go with this time (dang hot made me cry last time but it was delicious). The Mo’ Hot has a nice kick to it which still lets you taste all the other flavors but if you’re not a fan of spicy food I would suggest you start with the wimpy or hot.

The chicken is crunchy, spicy, and juicy. The coleslaw and pickles give it a refreshing taste which helps offset some of the spiciness. They also offer four different sauces on the side which we have only tried two. The cilantro mint and the comeback sauce both give the sandwich some extra flavor. The reality is that you don’t need any add-ons this is some amazing chicken.

If you want to take a picture in front of an Austin mural just walk across the street from Star Bar and this mural is on the side of the Parlor and Yard building. Hook em Horns 🤘.
