Valencia, Spain 2017

One of the stops we made during our trip to Spain was in the port city of Valencia, which lies on Spain’s southeastern coast, where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. It’s known for its City of Arts and Sciences, with futuristic structures. Valencia also offers several beaches and plenty of good seafood. It is also where La Paella was invented.

We drove to Valencia from Madrid in about three and a half hours. We were scheduled to be in there for about a day and a half. We knew that it was going to be a tight schedule so we already knew the things that we wanted to do.

We checked into the hotel and headed out to see Valencia’s beautiful beaches.

After enjoying the views at the beach we headed to town.

The dish Paella is said to be a perfect union between two cultures, the Romans for the pan and the Arabs who brought rice. There are many stories about how the dish came to be but one thing I think we can all agree on is that it is delicious.

Valencian Water is a cocktail made from a base of cava or champagne, orange juice, vodka and gin. You must definitely try this during your visit. Valencia is known for it’s delicious Oranges.

Next morning we grabbed a quick and delicious breakfast before we explored the rest of the city.

After all the sightseeing it was only right that we endulge in a little lunch before embarking on the four hour drive back to Barcelona.
